Attendees will learn how to transform personal experiences into a powerful legacy of social impact through the art of storytelling and gain practical tips on identifying market gaps, utilising crowdfunding, and striking a balance between profitability and social good.

The panel will also disclose their secrets to creating their own blueprint for success and how to harness the power of collaboration and networks to overcome business challenges.

Meet The Panelists

Adwoa Owusu-Darko, Founder of Mini’s World
Adwoa started her first business at 18 whilst studying PPE at University. She quickly became aware of the impact sustainable fashion has on the world and wanted to be a part of the change. Five years on, she has sold over 3500+ vintage pieces, secured over twelve brand partnerships and been featured in VOGUE Business and The New York Times Fashion.

Trash Gxng
Trash Gxng is a youth empowerment brand that designs and delivers creative workshops to give a voice to the youth. Trash Gxng co-create their collections through innovative workshops working closely with charities, schools and many more partners. Their mission is to be the creative outlet for this generation, being real and authentic about the challenges of life – leading to informed decision-making and drawing young people closer to industry.

Piarvé Wetshi, Member of SIS UK and Co-Founder Colèchi
Colechi
Colèchi is a collective and research agency actioning sustainable development in the fashion industry. They exist to humanise clothing again through curation, workshops and insight; working in between brands, education and government in collaboration with their collective that includes growers, weavers, designers, media and recyclers.

Sisters in Sustainability (SIS UK)
A network of women of colour with a vested interest in sustainability and environmental equity. SIS UK is a safe space and a network for women who often find themselves to be the only ‘one’ in the room.

Creative Shift
Creative Shift is based within University of the Arts London and aims to shape diversity in the creative industries through a programme of opportunities, working closely with creative industry partners to enhance students’ professional development.
