Learn how to knit a bag out of secondhand T-shirts in this inventive, beginner-friendly workshop.
In this hands-on workshop led by fashion designer Geo Knits Slow, participants will be guided to create their own mini knitted bag using yarn made from second-hand T-shirts. No previous knitting experience is required, and all skill levels are warmly welcomed.
The session begins with a short introduction to the process and a conversation about how garments that are no longer worn can be transformed into yarn. Participants will then spend time cutting and preparing their own T-shirt yarn before moving on to knitting the structure of their bag using a simple pattern designed especially for the workshop.
All materials are provided, though attendees are welcome to bring along their own fabric if they have something special they’d like to use.
