Saturday, September 25th 10.00am – 1.00pm
The Lab E20
Workshops: 10.00 – 11.00am and 11.30am – 12.30pm
Join Making for Change and Trashion Factory to upcycle old clothes into children’s superhero capes. Rounding each workshop off with a kids’ Superhero finale, this workshop will inspire imaginary play and encourage creativity through themes of waste reduction and upcycling. Play Capes is part of LCF’s 1000 Coats initiative, exploring how fashion and making can build communities and inspire social change.
Making for Change
London College of Fashion’s Making for Change works with designers, industry and early stage fashion businesses to develop innovative production practices and empowers community participants with vocational skills and commercial experience for their future fashion careers. Through their creative community programmes, they offer experiences that explore the spaces and places in which fashion, making and people converge.
Trashion Factory
Taking clothes that would otherwise end up in landfill and refashioning them into made-to-measure wardrobe staples and one-off pieces. Trashion Factory also takes bespoke orders to upcycle beloved garments and offers craft workshops to women in the local community.
